Subterranean termite treatment, matched to your home

Subterranean termites live in the soil and build mud tubes to reach the wood in your home. The right treatment depends on your construction, the termite species, and how active the colony is — we'll explain your options honestly.

Free termite inspection

We check the foundation, slab cracks, plumbing penetrations, garage, and attic for mud tubes, damage, and swarmer evidence, and confirm the species.

Sentricon colony elimination

In-ground Sentricon® stations around your home are fed on by foraging termites, who carry the bait back and eliminate the entire colony — queen included.

Liquid barrier treatment

A targeted soil treatment along the foundation and entry points stops active subterranean termites and blocks new ones from getting in.

Signs of subterranean termites in Florida homes

Central Florida pest control calendar

Our climate keeps pests active all year — but the pressure shifts by season. Here's what we watch for and treat month to month across the Orlando metro.

Mar – May

Spring

  • Ants
  • Termite swarmers
  • Wasps
  • Mosquitoes

Warm, wet weather triggers ant trails and termite swarms — the ideal time to start prevention.

Jun – Aug

Summer

  • Mosquitoes
  • Palmetto bugs
  • Fire ants
  • Fleas

Peak Florida pest season. Humidity and rain drive roaches and mosquitoes indoors and out.

Sep – Nov

Fall

  • Rodents
  • Spiders
  • Cockroaches
  • Earwigs

As nights cool, rodents and roaches look for a warm way inside. Seal-up and perimeter work matter most.

Dec – Feb

Winter

  • Rodents
  • German roaches
  • Silverfish
  • Spiders

Pests don't disappear here — they move indoors. Recurring service keeps them from settling in.

Why Sentricon works on subterranean termites

Subterranean termites forage through the soil in search of food — that's exactly what makes Sentricon® so effective. Workers find the in-ground stations, feed on the bait, and share it throughout the colony until the whole colony, queen included, is gone. No tenting, no drilling through your floors, and the stations keep protecting your home after the colony is eliminated. Ask about pairing it with a termite warranty.

Areas of high risk

Where termites get into your home

Termites live where you do — quietly, out of sight. As Certified Sentricon Specialists, we know exactly where they slip in, and we build protection around every one of these entry points.

  • Cellulose in wood

Framing, trim, and stored lumber are food — termites are drawn to the cellulose inside.

  • Gaps around pipes & gutters

Plumbing penetrations and downspouts create hidden highways straight to the structure.

  • Cracks around windows & doors

Even hairline gaps let swarmers and workers slip inside undetected.

  • Cracks in mortar & foundation

Foundation and mortar cracks give subterranean colonies a direct route up from the soil.

  • Wood-to-soil contact & moisture

Damp soil against wood and leaky areas are exactly where Florida termites thrive.

Subterranean termite control FAQ

Subterranean termites are termites that nest in the soil and travel through mud tubes to feed on wood in and around your home. They're the most common and most destructive termites in Central Florida. The two main species here are the native Eastern subterranean termite and the invasive Formosan subterranean termite.

For most Central Florida homes, the Sentricon® colony elimination system is the strongest long-term option because it eliminates the entire colony, queen included. Liquid barrier treatment is a fast way to stop active termites at the foundation. After a free inspection, we'll recommend Sentricon, a liquid treatment, or both based on your home.

Subterranean termite treatment cost depends on your home's size and construction, how active the infestation is, and whether you choose Sentricon, a liquid barrier, or both. We give you a clear, no-obligation quote after a free inspection. Call 407-713-7853 to schedule.

Subterranean termites live in the soil and build mud tubes to reach wood; drywood termites live entirely inside dry wood and leave behind small pellets called frass. Subterranean termites are treated at the soil with baiting or liquid barriers, while drywood termites need spot treatment or, for widespread infestations, tenting.

In Central Florida, Eastern subterranean termites usually swarm during the day in late winter and spring, often after rain. Formosan subterranean termites swarm in large numbers on warm evenings in late spring and early summer, often around lights. Swarmers or shed wings indoors are a strong sign of a nearby colony.

Yes. Formosan subterranean termites form very large colonies and can cause damage quickly, so colony elimination with Sentricon® is especially valuable. Our inspection identifies the species, and we tailor the treatment plan to it.
